Shaping the future of AI in higher education: Conference, 9-10 June
01 May 2026
Join SEED academics to explore the challenges and opportunities of AI in higher education at the upcoming AI Inclusion and Accessibility Conference.
Generative AI is reshaping education at an extraordinary pace, but as adoption grows, we must ask a vital question: who stands to benefit, and who risks being left behind?
On Tuesday, 9 and Wednesday, 10 June in the Whitworth Art Gallery, join educators, students and policymakers for Can AI Make Higher Education More Equitable and Accessible? – one of the first conferences dedicated entirely to exploring the challenges and opportunities of AI in higher education.
Led by colleagues in MIE and featuring guest speakers from Adobe, Microsoft Elevate UK, Jisc and Wonkhe, this two-day international conference is a space to share experiences, challenge assumptions and shape a fair and inclusive AI‑enabled future. Come along for a series of lightning talks, workshops, presentations and panel discussions, exploring everything from global inequalities in AI to building the accessibility professional of the future.
As interest in AI continues to grow, its impacts on different communities remain unknown. Through a curated programme, we’ll explore whether AI can genuinely make learning more inclusive, or whether, without intervention, we’re at risk of widening the accessibility gaps that already exist.
Register now to be part of the conversation and examine how we can harness AI to increase access and support for all learners.
