The EDRN supports researchers and supervisors working on sensitive or emotionally challenging topics.

The Emotionally Demanding Research Network (EDRN) supports researchers and supervisors working on sensitive or emotionally challenging topics. Led by SoSS and open to colleagues across Humanities, the network brings together academic colleagues, research colleagues, postdocs and PGRs to share experiences, good practice and support.

The EDRN offers informal peer networking, training opportunities and guidance on wellbeing, supervision and planning for support in emotionally demanding research. To join the network and receive event details, please email soss.socialresponsibility@manchester.ac.uk with your name, School and Department.

Upcoming event

A Vicarious Trauma Information and Awareness session will take place on Wednesday, 25 March from 3.30–5pm, led by Helen Carouzos, HCPC‑registered and Chartered Counselling Psychologist.
