Where to get help in packaging your DG?

Process you need to follow when packaging DG for shipment

Only ship the dangerous goods via the specialist courier after a “Dangerous Goods Packing Advisor” or Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) has signed off on it:

First, you MUST ask a “Dangerous Goods Packing Advisor” or a DGSA for advice on how to pack, label and mark the parcel as different requirements must be met depending on which UN number you are shipping:

Second, buy specific packaging and labels as advised

Third, book a specialist courier to ship your dangerous goods (such as Deltec, Fedex, Citysprint, etc.,). For advice on whether you able to transport these goods in a personal vehicle or by public transport please contact DGSA.

Fourth, schedule meeting with “Dangerous Goods Packing Advisor” or DGSA for inspection of packaging labels, markings, etc.

Fifth, report your shipment using the online form

UN1845 (Dry ice), UN3373 (Category B Biological Substances), UN3245 (Genetically-modified micro-organisms/organisms), Lithium batteries (UN3080, UN3081, UN3090 & UN3091)

Contact your faculty compliance team for the list of “Dangerous Goods Packing Advisors” that can help provide guidance on how to prepare these items for shipment. Schedule a meeting with the “Dangerous Goods Packing Advisors” to inspect the parcel (just before sending on the day with the specialist courier) as they must sign the dangerous goods checklist to ensure all information is properly annotated and the parcel is adequately packaged.
