Why does the menopause affect skin health?

Description

(ref 2017-2594-4020) and Salford Royal R&D department (ref S17HRANA19)

Why does the menopause affect skin health?

Researchers at the University of Manchester are performing a study to explore how the hormonal changes which occur after menopause affect the health and vitality of your skin.

We are interested to find out how the menopause affects 1) your skin immune system and 2) the protective lipids which are found in your skin.

We hope to identify skin changes which will help us to improve skin health and vitality in post-menopausal women.

The study is taking place at the Dermatopharmacology Unit at Salford Royal Hospital.

We are looking for White Caucasian women who are pre or post-menopausal and between the ages of 40 and 65.

Reimbursement will be provided for your time and inconvenience.
