John Owens south entrance closed until end of May

11 Apr 2024

As the ongoing redesign of the ‘Old Quad’ area of campus enters its next phase, the south entrance to the John Owen’s Building – the entrance closest to Burlington Street – is closed until further notice.

This entrance will be completely closed from this date until the end of May. All colleagues and visitors are asked to use the entrance located by Student Services on Burlington Street, where a ramp can be used for disabled access as well, as demonstrated in this map

The entrance will also not be in use as a fire exit. Please use the existing fire exits at the rear of the quad as an alternative. In the event of a fire alarm, the temporary assembly point for all buildings by the works is Gilbert Square, the grassed area next to AGLC.

The project is being developed and delivered by the Directorate of Estates and Facilities as part of our Bicentenary celebrations, to reflect this historic milestone and our continued commitment to innovation and sustainability. Work commenced in January 2024, with anticipated completion by May 2024.
