Learn a new language at the Language Café

31 Jan 2024

For those of you who are trying out a new language for 2024 or want to have an opportunity to practice your language skills in an informal setting, the Language Café is the perfect place for you.

We are pleased to announce the Language Café series at the University, which will be a safe space for you to explore language and develop your confidence.

So, what is the Language Café?

Each month, we invite lovers of language to join us for a free coffee, exchanging tips and tricks, and building confidence in their language skills.

We aim to make the Language Cafe accessible to all, regardless of language abilities. We welcome those who are trying to learn a new language, as well as those who are fully proficient. We want to cover a wide range of languages at the events, including but not limited to the language courses we offer in our school. So, if you are learning something new or miss speaking in your mother tongue, this is the place for you.

The café is open to all staff and students across the university. There is no need to sign up beforehand; join us on the day.

Practice makes perfect, and what better way to practice than with like-minded people over a cuppa?

Location: Beehive Restaurant, Oddfellows Hall

Time: 12 – 2 pm

Date: Wednesday, 7 February

This event is being organised by the Information, Advice and Guidance team in SALC. If you have any queries about the event, please get in touch with salc.iag@manchester.ac.uk.
