New library books directly to your office

22 Nov 2012

Online ordering and delivery service launched

The Library has developed a new service enabling our academic colleagues to order books directly, removing the need to send the orders through their library contacts.

The service can be accessed directly via My Manchester via My Library tab, ‘Library requests’ drop down option and ‘New Purchase’ tab.

In tandem with this new initiative the Library has launched a delivery service whereby purchases can be delivered directly to the office of the academic who has made the request. All they need to do is tick the reservation box when they submit the request.

Once an item is received by the Library it will be fast-tracked, issued to the academic’s library card and delivered by Estates staff. The academic can expect delivery within two working days of receiving a notification email from the Library. For auditing and tracking purposes, they will be required to sign for the item on receipt.

Academic Engagement Manager Dominic Broadhurst said: "We believe the new service will be of great benefit to our academic colleagues and look forward to receiving any feedback on the service."
