Julius Caesar: University of Manchester Drama Society Autumn Showcase

19 Nov 2012

On 21, 22 and 23 November 2012 (7pm) in the John Thaw Studio Theatre, Martin Harris Centre.

Julius Caesar is part of the University of Manchester Drama Society's Autumn Showcase. Written by William Shakespeare and directed by Caitlin Gleeson, it will be performed in the John Thaw Studio Theatre at 7pm on 21, 22 and 23 November.

Caesar’s rule over Rome is turning into tyranny in the eyes of Cassius and Brutus. But their plot to end it is only the beginning of the city’s problems and they soon find themselves overwhelmed by power, fear and guilt. This modern interpretation of Shakespeare’s historical thriller is played by an all-female cast, exploring the relationship between masculinity, politics and violence.
