Manchester Science Festival 2012: Will you be part of it?

24 Apr 2012

Register to get involved by Friday 4 May 2012.

This year will see the sixth Manchester Science Festival taking place from 27 October-4 November 2012. With over 110,000 people attending the 2011 event, this has become one of the UKs most popular science festivals.

The University of Manchester is a key partner to this festival – and we want to ensure we know about all events taking place through the University of Manchester – so we can best promote all events.

There are a number of ways in which you can get involved:

  • Running a “trailblazer” event in the weeks running up to the Science Festival for local school pupils. Assistance and support for running schools events can be provided from the UG Recruitment and WP team.
  • You may be planning your own event as part of the Science Festival. We would really like to know about all events so we can help cross promote. These activities could be for current staff/students at the University, members of the public, families and/or school children.
  • The University of Manchester will be holding a “Science Spectacular” on Saturday 27 October in Whitworth Hall. The aim of this event is to communicate the breadth and diversity of science, technology and engineering research that goes on at our University. We are looking for researchers, students or academics who are confident communicators to run a tabletop activity as part of a science fair. Focus will be on communicating your passion for your research area, and ensuring that attendees leave with a spark for science!
