See the Museum in a new light this Saturday (26 November)

23 Nov 2011

Come to the first of our regular After Hours events for adults, part of Museum Meets, The Manchester Museum's new adult programme.

Museum Meets: After Hours
Saturday 26 November (6.30-9.30pm)

See the Museum in a new light, at the first of our regular after hours events. There will be a fusion of Victorian and contemporary photography, gramophone music, photography experts and Museum objects. Bring your camera and take still-life photos of Museum objects not normally on display, hook up to a rescued Victorian camera and buy a drink from our bar. The event is presented by The Manchester Museum in partnership with Ultimate Holding Company and Anatomy Projects.

This event is part of our We are extInked exhibition (open until 4 December) which documents the arts and ecology project, extInked, for which in 2009 100 drawings of endangered British species were tattooed onto willing volunteers to turn them into ambassadors for their chosen species. We are extInked is a touring exhibition supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and MIRIAD.

Drop-in, free, adults

Museum Meets: The Urban Naturalist
Saturday 26 November (2-4pm)

The first of our monthly practical, friendly workshops run by leading naturalists. From wild food-foraging and composting to bird song and insect identification, explore biodiversity on our doorstep. During this workshop you can make a cloche to help keep your garden warm and cosy this winter and protect your plants from the cold and frost.
