Thousands of students and graduates will be heading to Manchester next week for the National Postgraduate Study Fair, organised annually by The University of Manchester.

The Study Fair is one of the key events of the academic calendar for any student or graduate considering further study in the UK or abroad, either as a Masters or a PhD student.

The Fair takes place from 10.30am to 4pm on Wednesday 23 November in Central Hall 1, Manchester Central (formerly the G-MEX Centre).

Now in its 18th successive year, around 2,000 students and graduates from institutions across the UK are expected to attend, with no charge for entry and Fair Guides available free of charge on the day.

There will be access to a wealth of information on further study opportunities after a first degree as well as essential tips from the experts on funding options, applications and how to proceed.

Jane Ratchford, Director of the University’s Careers & Employability Division, which organises the event, said: “The Postgraduate Study Fair gives students and graduates from all institutions access to a massive range of exciting opportunities for further study, throughout the UK and across the globe.”

More than 90 exhibitors will be attending - mostly UK institutions, but also some from overseas including Australia, America, Canada, Germany, Finland, Italy, Austria, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Various training organisations and advisory bodies will also be there, including The Training & Development Agency for Schools, PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk and MasterCompare.co.uk, UKPass – UCAS Postgraduate Service, The US-UK Fulbright Commission, and sponsors of the event, FindAPhd.com and FindAMasters.com.

Talks throughout the day will provide insight on topics including studying overseas, teacher training, coping with life as a postgraduate and how to finance further study.
