Poetry reading by Simon Armitage

06 Oct 2011

On 11 October, one of the UK’s best known and most appreciated contemporary poets and writers of fiction will read from his work at Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre.

Simon Armitage has published ten volumes of poetry and received many awards, including the Sunday Times Author of the Year, one of the first Forward Prizes and a Lannan Award. He also writes for radio, television and film and is the author of four stage plays. In 2010 he was awarded the CBE for services to poetry.

Simon will read from his extensive portfolio of published work in the Discovery Centre set against the magnificent backdrop of the Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope near Goostrey. Following the performance Simon will be available for book signing. His books will be available for purchase on the evening. The Jodrell Bank café and bar will be open from 7.15 pm for alcoholic and soft drinks and a selection of cakes. This promises to be a literary evening to remember.
