Advertise on the 147 bus fleet

05 Jan 2011

One-stop shop for space booking, design and print, and delivery

You're probably familiar with the sight of the 147 shuttle buses running at 10-minute intervals between the campus and Piccadilly station, but did you know that:

  • Staff, students and members of the public made nearly 800,000 passenger journeys on the fleet last year?
  • The University has an allocation of advertising space inside the buses?

As one of the four Higher Education Precinct partners in the 147 Oxford Road Link bus service, the University has an allocation of 16 headliner spaces across the fleet: three on each of the three single-deckers and seven on the double-decker bus (headliners are vinyl stickers which are displayed at head height along the interior of the bus).

Internal Communications offers a booking system for headliner spaces and has negotiated a baseline price for headliner design and printing (which will apply until 31 December 2011) with County Print, one of the University's contracted printers. We'll also handle the delivery of the headliners to Bullock's Coaches and make sure that old headliners are removed from display.

If you are interested in promoting events or other aspects of University life to a wide audience on the 147 buses, you can find full details of the service online at:

If bus headliners aren't the type of advertising you are looking for, you'll also find information on our website about two other formats which might suit your needs:

  • Display ads in print in UniLife (available to staff, students and members of the public)
  • Classified ads online in The Marketplace (available to staff, students and members of the public)
