Tabley Friends to hit Lichfield

13 Sep 2010

Coach outing with special guided tour of cathedral on 29 September

Just a reminder that the first event in the Tabley Friends’ Autumn programme is a coach trip to lovely Lichfield Cathedral on 29 September. This dates from 700 AD and is one of England’s smallest cathedrals. It is well known for its beautiful spires and is in an unrivalled setting with its intimate close and the Minster and Stowe pools nearby.

After coffee and biscuits on arrival, the Friends and guests will have a special guided tour of the cathedral and surroundings. They will then be able to lunch in one of Lichfield’s many restaurants or pubs nearby and, in the afternoon, to visit the Dr Samuel Johnson Museum or Erasmus Darwin’s House Museum.

The coach will leave Tabley House at 9.15am and is planned to return by 6pm. Tickets (not including lunch) will be £25 for Friends and £27 for Guests.
