Summer holidays at The Manchester Museum

Loads of things to keep your little ones busy this summer!

  • See you soon animals! - Monday 19 July - Friday 27 August: 11am-4pm
  • This summer is your last chance to see our stuffed animals until they reappear in their amazing new home in spring 2011.  Looking at issues such as habitat loss, extinction and climate change, their new Living Planet gallery will reveal how we are all part of the natural world and how we can make a positive difference. Wish our animals well on their journey, build a rainforest for our tiger and much more.
  • Build a rainforest for our tiger - Monday 19 July - Friday 27 August: 11am-4pm
  • Build a rainforest for our tiger and wish our animals well until they reappear in their amazing new home in 2011. Drop-in, free, all ages.
  • A History of the World trail - Monday 19 July - Friday 27 August: 11am-4pm
  • Follow our A History of the World Relic trail around the Museum, and uncover the secrets behind some of our objects. Can you complete the challenges and become a Guardian of the Museum? Drop-in, free, 7+.
  • See you soon animals tour- Monday 19 July, Tuesday 20 July, Thursday 22 July, Monday 26 July, Tuesday 27 July, Thursday 29 July, Monday 2 August, Tuesday 3 August and Thursday 5 August
  • 11.30am-12.15pm; 1.30-2.15pm; 2.15-3pm
  • Go exploring in our Animal Life 1 gallery with our family tour guide and find out some amazing facts about our animals. Drop-in, free, all ages, meet in Animal Life 1, Floor 1.

  • Story time and activities for under fives and their families.

Book on 0161 275 2648 a week before the event, £1 per child, under 5s and their families/carers.

  • Family Friendly Film Festival - Friday 30 July - Sunday 15 August
  • Films include First Flicks for younger children and Global Cinema screenings from around the world. On Wednesday 4 August there will be a twilight screening of G-Force and your chance to be in the Museum after the doors have shut.
