NHS Foundation Trust's Community Engagement Week.

16 Mar 2009

Learn more about the Trust and its services: 30 March to 3 April.

The Patient and Public Involvement Service from Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is hosting a 'Your Health, Your Hospital' Community Engagement week from 30 March to 3 April. The event, hosted at The Nowgen Centre, is part of the Trust's community engagement plan and will encourage patients, visitors and the public to learn more about the Trust and its services, and have a say in decision making. It will give staff the opportunity to showcase their services and tell you more.

Trust staff will raise awareness of their service, provide information, and talk to patients and members of the public. Each day is themed to different hospitals within the Trust:

  • Monday 30 March 2009 – St Mary's Hospital: women’s health, maternity service, move to New Hospital, Foundation Trust membership
  • Tuesday 31 March 2009 – Medicine: Manchester Heart Centre, Renal department
  • Wednesday 1 April 2009 – Surgery and Clinical & Scientific Services: tours of emergency surgical unit, medical education, resuscitation workshop
  • Thursday 2 April 2009 – Children's Hospitals: clown doctors, research, careers
  • Friday 3 April 2009 – Dental and Royal Eye Hospital: dental hygiene, eye health issues, oral cancer checks, visual acuity

These are just a selection of the services and issues for each day. Doors will open to the public from 11am to 4pm daily. The week will be interactive and include a number of workshops and question and answer sessions. Please come along to find out more information about the Trust and how you could get more involved:
