'Communication Counts: influencing for business success'.

06 Oct 2008

Manchester Momentum breakfast/networking event on 14 October.

Tuesday 14 October 2008, 8am - 10am
The Core Technology Facility, The University of Manchester

University colleagues, especially academics already running their own business or who are interested in how to commercialise their research, are very welcome to attend.

Communicating and presenting a new business or innovative idea effectively is all important when looking to move a business to the next level. Whether looking for funding, an investor, new contracts or moving from research to the marketplace - communicating and influencing others is vital to business success.

This latest event from the Manchester Momentum team will help business professionals to:

  • Understand the psychology of those you are aiming to attract;
  • Appreciate what’s important to investors, angels and potential customers;
  • Make best use of body and space to influence and engage.

This unique event will help you explore how to communicate and influence others to maximum effect. Our speaker, Bill Docherty, will be using his personal experience, knowledge and appreciation of the business environment to bring you a particularly innovative, thought-provoking and ultimately practical session to help you make those important connections.

This event provides an excellent opportunity for colleagues to network and develop relationships with Manchester Momentum’s business members. Manchester Momentum is a unique knowledge community devoted to nurturing the growth of commercial ventures that have an affiliation with the University, namely, spin-out, incubating and science park businesses. There are over 100 member businesses involved in Manchester Momentum.
