Complete our phishing awareness training

18 Mar 2024

Could you spot a phishing email if you received one? Do you know what to look out for?

Our University has worked with a cyber security company called Khipu to bring you an online training course on phishing awareness. The course involves watching a short video, reading the training tips and taking part in a short quiz and test of your knowledge. To help yourself stay safe online, we strongly encourage you to take a few minutes and complete the course.

The course is available on the cyber security page of the IT Services website:

As a University we will continue our efforts to help you stay safe online and defend against phishing – this may include additional training and simulated phishing exercises.

What is a phishing email?

Phishing messages are emails that try to trick you into giving out personal information or visiting fake websites. Email fraudsters use increasingly sophisticated measures to try and scam people – posing as trusted contacts and asking you to check IT account details are just some of the ways this can happen.
