Join artist Megan Powell for a Thursday Late

22 Mar 2017

After the Bees - A Fable for Tomorrow takes place on Thursday 30 March at the Manchester Museum

After the Bees

The evening’s activities include two screenings of Powell’s feature-length film, A Fable for Tomorrow - a surrealist documentary that imagines the fate of the world’s last honeybee hive. Weaving a tale of loneliness and a longing to understand these beguiling creatures and our relationship to them, the film features footage of bees from Manchester Art Gallery’s rooftop hives and is narrated by Maxine Peake.

With beekeepers, ecologists, academics, spoken word response and live music, the evening is an informal and informative celebration of Manchester’s beloved emblem, and the need to protect its future.

The event is free for adults and no booking is required.  From 6pm until 9pm.
