Government issues statement on status of EU nationals in UK

In a joint statement, the Cabinet Office, Home Office and Foreign & Commonwealth Office have confirmed that there has been no change to the rights and status of EU nationals in the UK

The rights of UK nationals in the EU remain similarly unchanged.

The statement goes on to say that the UK will remain a member of the EU until the Article 50 negotiations to leave the EU have concluded and that the Government expects the legal status of EU nationals living in the UK, and that of UK nationals in EU member states, will be properly protected.
