Hear about MMU's experience of delivering carbon literacy to students

10 Mar 2016

On Wednesday, 16 March (2-4pm) Geoffrey Manton Building, Room GM233, Manchester Metropolitan University

You are warmly invited to the next UoM and MMU Sustainability in the Curriculum meeting, at which Jane Mörk (Carbon Literacy, School of Science & the Environment, MMU) will talk about The Carbon Literacy project, a unique training programme that stems from Manchester’s climate change action plan - Manchester: a Certain Future (MACF). According to MACF, everyone who lives works and studies in Manchester should have access to one day's worth of Carbon Literacy training.

The aim of this workshop is to share MMU’s experience of delivering Carbon Literacy to students. The meeting will cover the background to the Carbon Literacy Project, MMU’s involvement with the Carbon Literacy Project and MMU’s new Carbon Literacy scheme.

The presentation will be followed by a discussion covering topics such as:

  • How can a university support the Carbon Literacy Project?
  • Should Carbon Literacy be embedded in the curriculum or should it be delivered through extracurricular activities?
