EPS apprentice runs for Breast Cancer Care

25 Aug 2015

Jasmine Fernley from EPS is taking part in the Manchester 5K Electric Run

On 26 September, Jasmine, an apprentice laboratory technician who has been working at the University for two years, will take part in the 5K Manchester Electric Run to raise money for Breast Cancer Care, along with her team the 'Lighting Girls'.

Breast Cancer Care is a charity that provides information and support for people affected by breast cancer. They also bring people affected by breast cancer together and consult with them on the best ways to offer help and support, campaign for improvements in the standards of care for people with breast cancer, and work to promote the importance of early detection.

Most people will know someone affected by breast cancer at some point during their lives, and the charity is close to Jasmine's heart after losing her grandmother to the disease in 2013. She has previously taken part in Cancer Research's 'Relay for Life'.
