Oxford Road closure and pedestrian bridge access

Oxford Road will be closed to through traffic from Monday, 8 June to Monday, 15 June while essential work is carried out to divert services which currently run across the Precinct Centre bridge

As a result the bridge will no longer be accessible from Wednesday 3 June, and this will remain the case until it is demolished in the summer.

There will be a bus route and traffic diversion in place at Hathersage Road along Upper Brook Street and Booth Street East – this will be used by the following bus services:

  • 18, 38, 41 42 43 44 142 143 145 (In) 157 X41 X57, 141, 147, 191, 197

An alternative diversion will run along Moss Lane East, Lloyd Street North, Higher Cambridge Street and Booth Street West – this will be used by bus services 15,53 and 111.

Pedestrian access will be maintained and vehicles will still be able to access the campus.

This work is in preparation for the demolition of the bridge in the summer as part of the redevelopment of Manchester Business School. This will involve a second road closure scheduled to take place over a four-week period from from 10 August to 6 September.
