Becoming a Dementia Friend: find out what's involved

08 May 2015

Book now for an information session on Dementia Friends - the national initiative run by Alzheimer's Society

It's funded by the government and aims to improve people's understanding of dementia and its effects. Alzheimer's Society is working with lots of volunteers and other organisations, including the University, to achieve this goal. Because, together, we can create dementia friendly communities.

People with dementia sometimes need a helping hand to go about their daily lives and feel included in their local community. Dementia Friends is giving people an understanding of dementia and the small things that they can do that could make a difference to people living with dementia.

If you would like to become a Dementia Friend, then please book yourself on a lunch time information session and bring your lunch along! Sessions are running in May, June and July.
