Update on today’s major incident on North Campus

The chemical that caused the major incident on North Campus today has been removed from Pariser Building for safe disposal and the Police cordon around Sackville Street has been lifted.

Sackville Street has been cordoned off by police

Charles Street car park has re-opened and the 147 bus service has returned to its usual route.

Staff and students are advised that the University buildings affected by the incident will be open as usual tomorrow.

The University’s Major Incident Planning team has closed down the incident and a full investigation will now take place.

The University would like to thank all staff and students for their patience during today’s enforced closures.
