Share your graduation memories

10 Jul 2014

Have you any stories or advice for our new graduands?

The Division of Development and Alumni Relations is asking University colleagues to share their graduation memories.

As the University welcomes its graduating students into an alumni community numbering just under275,000, spanning 200 countries, now is the time to relive your graduation day – and perhaps share some sound advice.

You can:

  • share your memories of graduation
  • share your photos of graduation (from whatever decade – the further back the better)
  • give advice for graduands approaching their ceremony – how to look smart, etc
  • give advice for graduands now that they’ve got their degrees.

Staff who are Manchester alumni are especially welcome to share their memories and photos, to provide the University with a 'then and now' aspect on the proceedings.

Staff can also come and have fun at this summer’s graduation. Have your photo taken with the celebrity alumni cardboard cut outs or in the comedy photobooth, found next to the graduation marquee. The booth has a £1 fee which goes towards our undergraduate access scholarships fund.

Tweet your graduation thoughts to our Alumni account (@AlumniUoM) with the hashtags #UoMGraduation and #ILoveUoM.
