03 Jun 2014

Join the Race Relations Resource Centre for an event with pioneering scholar in the global history of refugees Peter Gatrell on Tuesday 17 June 2014 (5-7pm) at Manchester Central Library

16-20 June is national Refugee Week. The Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre will be hosting an In Conversation event with Peter Gatrell, a pioneering scholar in the global history of refugees and population displacement.

Gatrell's recent book 'The Making of the Modern Refugee' (Oxford University Press, 2013) surveys refugee movements across the twentieth century and has been praised for putting "displaced people at the heart of contemporary history".

This free event will give you the opportunity to meet the author and discuss his book in the newly refurbished Central Library.
