Fairtrade Fortnight 2014

20 Feb 2014

Fairtrade Fortnight runs from Monday, 24 February to Sunday, 9 March and to celebrate FoodOnCampus will be running two offers.

  • Fairtrade Manchester Tart – a traditional Manchester tart with a Fairtrade Banana twist – available in all outlets for only £1.50
  • Fairtrade Afternoon Tea – a Fairtrade Manchester tart and a 12oz tea or Americano for only £1.99

The University of Manchester is proud to be a Fairtrade University. All tea, coffee, hot chocolate and sugar sold / used in the FoodOnCampus catering outlets and served via Taste Manchester is Fairtrade. We also sell lots of other Fairtrade goodies including fruit juices, bananas, chocolate, muffins, flapjacks, cookies and wine. Look for the Fairtrade mark!

Choosing Fairtrade means the farmers and workers have a better chance to work their way out of poverty, through fairer wages, safer working conditions and a little extra, called the Fairtrade Premium, to invest in projects to improve life for the whole community.

This year’s theme is ‘Make bananas fair’.
