Opportunity knocks at MyFutureFest

19 Feb 2014

Students ponder their future…in a teepee

The University’s Careers Service is hosting MyFutureFest – a week long programme of events and activities designed to encourage all our students to think about their futures.

The highlight will be a PapaKata teepee, located next to University Place.  Open from 12noon – 6pm for the rest of this week, it will offer students the chance to come inside, grab a hot drink and cake; chat with staff about their career plans, ambitions and aspirations; entercompetitions and collect giveaways; browse our showcase of all the things they can do to make the most of their time at the University and prepare for when they leave us.

There will also be a programme of Fringe events, including career-related workshops and sessions throughout the week at various locations across campus and also within a number of academic Schools.

Careers Service deputy director Tammy Goldfeld said: “There’s been a great reception to the concept of MyFutureFest from both academic and PSS colleagues in the planning and preparation stages.  We’re certainly excited about this new initiative and are looking forward to the big event.

“Any colleagues are more than welcome to come along to the teepee and have a look what’s on offer.

“And please help us to make the event a success by promoting MyFutureFest to any students you have contact with.”
