Art and archaeology in the ancient Mediterranean world

Gain an insight into the lives of the people of the many ancient cultures that flourished around the Mediterranean before the arrival of the Roman Empire. We’ll link places and artefacts to put flesh on the bones of Canaanites, Minoans, Philistines, Carthaginians and as well as the Greeks, and examine their achievements and legacies.

Our Curator of Earth Sciences, David Gelsthorpe, will be in the Collections Study Centre once a month to answer your questions and identify your rocks and fossils.

A day bursting with hands-on craft and art activities for all the family, inspired by the Coral exhibition.  Meet experts, come along and hear under the sea stories, find out more about the importance of coral and the magnificent creatures that live under the sea.  Get creative and make under the sea creatures.
