Annette Naughton is making a difference

03 Apr 2014

I was helped back into work by The Works initiative

Making a difference

I had worked as an administrator for over ten years, before I was made unexpectedly made redundant, and I became very worried about finding another job and making ends meet.

The Jobcentre told me about the Works, which had just opened in Ardwick and soon had an interview with an advisor, who helped me put together a CV. Within four weeks of my first visit to The Works, I was appointed as a Finance Administrator at the University of Manchester.

The Works is a very good centre and made me feel much more positive at a time when I was feeling worried. The positive attitude of all the people there made me feel much more optimistic, and I really believe that it was down to the help I received from the staff at The Works that I found a new job so quickly. I would recommend a visit to anyone looking for help finding work.
