31 Oct 2013

On Sunday, 8 December at Stockport County FC, Edgeley Park, SK3 9DD - doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.45pm.

Jon Keighren

The University will help to raise vital funds for the British Red Cross, when our Media Relations Manager Jon Keighren hosts comedy night Giggle Aid: Live at County.

Jon said: “A crisis can happen anywhere, and to anyone. As well as helping people abroad, the British Red Cross helps more than a million people in the UK every year.

“The British Red Cross can provide practical help in emergencies and short-term care in the home, and also teaches life-saving first aid skills.

“Hopefully this event will give people a good laugh and raise some money, but also help to highlight the great work carried out here by the British Red Cross.”

Jon will introduce four comedians on the night, including Alfie Moore, a serving police office; guitar-playing stand-up Silky; the extravagant Daliso Chaponda and Joe Bromehead, who recently headlined the Nottingham Comedy Festival.

A bar will be open throughout the show and hot food will be available to purchase on the night.
