October 2013 marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Martin Harris Centre. Over this period the Centre has established itself as a resource for the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, the wider University and the local Manchester community. It has become an important asset with an excellent reputation supporting Access to the Arts.

To mark this occasion, the Centre is hosting a series of celebratory events. We have a limited number of tickets to one of these events at 5.30pm on Thursday 17 October.

A keynote from Professor Sir Martin Harris, ex-Vice Chancellor of the Victoria University of Manchester who was key in the creation of the Centre. Following Sir Martin, actress, comedian and author Meera Syal MBE, will be in conversation with broadcaster Sheila McClennon. Both Meera and Sheila are Alumnae of Drama and are sure to provide us with a unique insight into being a university student at Manchester and their own experience of the Arts in their careers.
