The University of Manchester Student Surveys 2013/14: briefing roadshow

Each year The University of Manchester participates in some key student surveys, which give us vital insight into the type of experience we are providing for our students.
We would like to invite you to the Student Surveys Roadshow, where you can find out more about the promotional campaign for the surveys, how students will access them, the general practicalities, and how you can get involved in making them a success. As the Barometer is the first survey in the cycle, there will be a particular focus on this in the October Roadshow. Further details about the event and how to book are below.
Which surveys, when and who?
In addition to the regular Unit Surveys for taught students, the University will ask all students to take part in an institutional Student Satisfaction Survey during this academic year.
There will be three questionnaires, but no student will be asked to participate in more than one:
- UG (except NSS) and PGR students, Student Barometer Survey, November – December 2013
- Final Year UG students, NSS, February – Easter 2014
- PGT students, PTES Survey, February – Easter 2014
Why are these surveys important?
Student surveys are one element of our commitment to listen to our students and include them as partners in our mission to deliver an excellent student experience. They help keep the University accountable to our students and have contributed to driving significant improvements over the last few years: without the evidence of student needs and priorities that they generate developments such as the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons 2012 and the recently opened Atrium in University Place would have been much harder to achieve. Staff support in encouraging students to participate is key to maximising response and ensuring the validity of the results.
The Student Surveys Roadshow will take place on Wednesday, 16 October (2-3pm) in Mansfield Cooper Building, Room G.19.
