The Martin Harris Centre will play host to a book launch and author talk by Anandi Ramamurthy, organised by the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre, on 10 October at 6pm
Anandi Ramamurthy is Senior Lecturer in Film and Media at the University of Central Lancashire. She has written extensively on race and representation, commodity culture, social movements and people's histories.
On 10 October in The Martin Harris Centre, she will be talking about her latest book, Black Star, which documents the vibrant Asian Youth Movements in '70s and '80s Britain which struggled against the racism of the street and state.
