Engaging with the future

10 Jul 2013

Are you interested in how universities engage with the public? How do you think this might change in the future? What do you want from the engaged university?

Since the National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement launched in 2007, much has changed. Demands for greater impact from research, for a more ‘relevant’ curriculum, the introduction of student fees and the economic crisis are all having a profound effect on the relationship between universities and society.

The NCCPE has commissioned a consultation to consider the future of the engaged university and are currently hosting a series of workshops. If you are interested in helping to shape the role universities could play within society, whether you are staff, student or a member of an organisation which works in partnership with universities, these interactive sessions will provide an opportunity to develop visions for the engaged university in 2025.

Workshops are being held in London on 18th July (10.30 am – 1 pm) and Manchester on 10th September (10.30 am - 1 pm).
