Computers
Ground floor
All PGT students from SoSS and SEED have 24-hour access, seven days a week.
Please advise students not to store data on the hard drives.
Printing in this area is charged and provided by the Faculty of Humanities ICT.
First floor
In the open plan areas, computers are available for PGR students.

Kitchen and breakout areas
At each end of each floor (with the exception of the ground floor), there is an Oasis area with a kitchen and a seating area. In each Oasis area, there is a:
- boiler
- cool water dispenser
- dishwasher
- fridge
- microwave.
These kitchen areas are the responsibility of the staff and students who use them. Please wash your own cups, plates, etc, and leave the kitchen as clean as you found it.
Waste and recycling bins have been provided close to all kitchen and oasis areas - please use them.
Dish-washing liquid and sponges are regularly replenished by the School.

Lockers
There are code operated lockers on the first floor of ALB for the use of Postgraduate Researcher students. To be allocated a locker please email SEEDestates@manchester.ac.uk.

- It is helpful to include your office number and discipline/department in the address.
Incoming post is delivered to staff pigeon holes/mail shelves beside OS A and B on the 1st floor (for offices on Ground Floor/1st floor) or 2nd floor (for offices / desks on the 2nd floor).
- Academic staff have named pigeon holes.
- Research staff have pigeon holes labelled with the number of their shared office.
- Post for PGR students, or anyone else, will be distributed in alphabetised filing trays above the OS B staff pigeon holes on 1st floor ALB.
Outgoing mail
- There are trays for outgoing post in the OS A area on 1st and 2nd floor ALB. Business mail left sealed and addressed will be collected by the porters, to be sent out.
- Recorded and registered mail – attach instructions to the envelope and the porters will organize this service. For further guidance or for more complicated requests, visit the post room on the ground floor of ALB.
- Deltec Courier / Deltec International Courier Limited are the University's preferred supplier for courier deliveries. Be sure to arrange a quote with Deltec before contacting your local team requisitioner to request a Purchase Order. Tel 0161 945 4332 / email: Manchester@deltec-international.com

Showers
There are six showers located on the ground floor which are for use by members of staff.
The code for the showers can be collected from the portering staff. Each shower also has a £1 coin-operated locker.
Toilets
There are male, female and disabled toilets on each floor adjacent to the lift area and these are clearly labelled.
Wireless access
Wireless access and roam points are available throughout the majority of the building. Staff, students or visitors gain access to the internet via a University of Manchester username and password.
