Call for Manchester Gold mentors and mentees

Applications are now open for a secondary cycle of the Manchester Gold mentoring scheme.

The University has launched a secondary cycle of the Manchester Gold mentoring scheme and applications are now open for colleagues to apply to be either a mentor or a mentee.

What is Manchester Gold?

Manchester Gold is a well-established mentoring scheme for colleagues across all grades and areas of the University, including Professional Services, Academic (teaching and/or research) and Technical. All colleagues are eligible to take part as mentors and/or mentees to support their development and share experience.

Apply to be a mentor

As a Manchester Gold mentor, you'll have the opportunity to support a colleague’s professional growth, share your experience and develop your own mentoring skills. Applications are welcomed from colleagues across all grades and all types of roles. Your experience and areas of expertise will be valuable to our mentees and there is full training and support for those new to mentoring.

Apply to be a mentee

Colleagues join the scheme seeking mentorship in various areas, including career direction, promotion support, leadership development, project management, communication skills, grant applications, research income, evidencing teaching excellence, confidence building and more. Apply to be a mentee and we will aim to match you with a mentor who can support you with your particular goals. You will also have the support of the wider Manchester Gold network!
