SEED seeks to appoint a new Head of Department of Geography, starting 1 August, 2025. Deadline for Expressions of Interest is 11 April, 2025.

SEED seeks to appoint a new Head of Geography. The role of Head of Department is a strategically important one in supporting the University’s vision. The Head of Geography will provide the academic leadership and management to ensure that the Department makes a full contribution towards the objectives of the School, the Faculty and the University.
The post attracts a honorarium of £5,000 and 9,000 workload points.
The start date for the post is 1st August 2025. This is a three-year appointment, with the possibility to extend.
The deadline to submit expressions of interest is 11th April 2025.
Interviews will be held in the week commencing 28th April 2025.

Expressions of Interest should consist of a brief up to date CV with a covering letter of up to 500 words, outlining your suitability for the role and what you would like to achieve if appointed.
Candidate applications will be reviewed by a panel and shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview. The interview will often consist of a presentation and some questions to enable the panel to ascertain suitability for the position. The panel will always include members of SLT.
