Healthy participants with normal BMI needed for appetite study

We are currently recruiting volunteers to take part in a research study investigating how energy and taste stimuli influence eating behaviour. You are potentially eligible if:

  • You are between 18-40 years old

  • You have a normal body mass index between 18.5 and 24.9 kg/m2.

  • You are not taking any medication for chronic diseases (e.g. diabetes)

  • You regularly eat breakfast.

  • You are not vegetarian or vegan.

     

Participation involves five mid-morning visits (between 11.30 - 13.30) to the University of Manchester (Neuroscience and Psychiatry Unit, Stopford Building), which are expected to last between 1 hour and 1 hour and 15 min each. A screening visit is required and will be scheduled on a morning after overnight fast.

Participation will also involve:

  • beverages’ tasting and consumption

  • capillary blood sampling for glucose measurement

  • computer based tasks to assess appetite and interest in foods

  • lunch!!

You will be compensated for your time.
