Health and safety

There may be health and safety measures which need to be put into place in order to protect the student and her baby, particularly if the student is based in certain Schools, such as when the student might be exposed to harmful chemicals or be expected to lift heavy objects.

The School in which the student is based is responsible for risk assessments in relation to the environment in which they are studying. Any health and safety concerns should be raised as soon as possible with the appropriate School office.

The University's Occupational Health and Safety Services may be consulted for advice and guidance:

University accommodation

There may be health and safety reasons why University accommodation may become unsuitable for students who are pregnant.  Advice should be sought from the Accommodation Office.
