Student Support and Wellbeing Community of Practice

The Student Support Community of Practice brings colleagues from across the University together to connect, learn and strengthen how we support students.

About the Community of Practice

The Student Support and Wellbeing Community of Practice (SSW CoP) brings together colleagues working with students to connect, share experiences and learn from one another around student support and wellbeing.

Who should join?

The CoP is open to all members of staff who work in or have an interest in student support, student wellbeing, academic support or student-facing policy and practice.

Ways to connect

  • Teams discussion space: An ongoing, informal space to ask questions, share insights and support each other in day-to-day practice.
  • Quarterly catch-ups (known as the Student Support Network): Regular opportunities to come together as a community for shared learning and connection. Sessions will vary in focus, with some offering open forum discussion and a chance to network and others providing updates or guest speakers. These will be a mix of in-person and online sessions.
  • Student Support Listserv: To receive emails about events or updates, join the Student Support Listserv mailing list:
    1. Send an email to STUDENT-SUPPORT-request@LISTSERV.MANCHESTER.AC.UK (leave the subject blank)
    2. In the body of the email, type: Subscribe STUDENT-SUPPORT
    3. You will receive a confirmation email with further instructions to complete your subscription

How to join

A dedicated SharePoint site brings together key information, links and updates to support your work and keep you connected with the CoP.

Access to the SharePoint site is on a membership basis. If you’re unable to access it using this link, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Please note: joining the SharePoint site and signing up to the Student Support Listserv are separate processes, so you'll need to complete both if you'd like access to the site and to receive listserv communications.
