Established more than 125 years ago, Geography at Manchester is in the top tier of Geography departments in the world, exploring a diverse range of cultural, economic, urban, and political global challenges.

The department is committed to making significant contributions to some of the most important intellectual and practical issues facing society and the environment, and this passion and knowledge extends from research into teaching.

With a focus on sustainable development, students are encouraged to consider both the social and environmental dimensions of current global challenges, and to explore the interface between Human and Physical Geography

Benefiting from strong links with industry, the wide range of course units and the flexible nature of the programmes, graduates leave with a diverse knowledge base, transferable skills and honed specialisms.
