The School of Environment, Education and Development aims to make a difference to the lives of people around the world through world class research and life changing education.

Our five disciplines connect with professional practice and with applied research in the social and environmental sciences. Through our focus on environment, development, and education we are uniquely placed to make a significant contribution to addressing the many 'wicked' problems that the world faces and to understand the impact of these challenges on people and communities.

Our strategic aims for our three main areas of teaching and learning, research, and social responsibility align with university and faculty strategies and our success across all areas relies fundamentally on the contributions of all staff, both academic and professional services (PS), at every level.
