Periodic review

The University periodically reviews the continuing validity and relevance of programme aims and intended learning outcomes and a School's management of its programmes (or discipline area). This process has been suspended since March 2018 and continues to be so until further notice

Statement from the University on Periodic Review

Schools wishing to carry out a periodic review can do so under the existing process should they wish and should contact their Faculty Teaching and Learning Officer (EDPPP) to discuss.

Periodic Review of Validated Partners

For validation arrangements in the Faculty of Humanities where a continuing validated partner’s agreement with the University is due to expire, a periodic and institutional review will be held and the review panel will make a recommendation to the Vice President (Teaching, Learning and Students) on whether to enter a further 5 year agreement. Following initial short-term extensions, as required and agreed, from the 2023/24 academic year periodic and institutional review has been reinstated for validation arrangements in the Faculty of Humanities.

Further information about periodic and institutional review of validated partnerships is available on the following TLD webpage:

For information on the schedule for the periodic and institutional review of validated partnerships in the Faculty of Humanities please contact Helen Davenport or the Humanities Education Development, Policy, Procedure and Practice Team.
