Wellbeing and Support
This page is designed to support positive, proactive conversations with your students to maintain or improve their wellbeing.
The model of student support at Manchester is structured in to a stepped model:
- Preventative wellbeing work
- Low-hurdle wellbeing interventions
- Structured psychological interventions
- Mental health interventions
- Rapid mental health crisis support
Steps 1 and 2 can usually be supported by all members of staff, without a need to refer a student to one of our specialist services.
Stepped Care Model
This stepped care model will help you in your conversations with students. Go to this page which includes an elearning module about the stepped care model.

Our diverse student population means our students may have varying or specific needs. The guidance linked to below can help you to support students in navigating their particular situation.
