This award acknowledges the success of a cross-institutional, multidisciplinary team who train students to deliver excellent eyecare to patients through optometry teaching clinics based on campus in the Carys Bannister building. The team’s submission was an excellent example of how a clinically-focused, partner-enabled learning innovation has been successfully evolved, building explicitly on the previous award for the Glaucoma clinic (OLGA) in 2024 and influencing practice at other universities. The expansion into 4 additional clinics enables students to see rare conditions (e.g. uveitis) and evidences substantial reach and influence, offering students at Manchester a unique experience.
