Becki Bennett (Professor in Bioethics, School of Social Sciences and Associate Dean for Teaching, Learning and Students (Distance Learning), Faculty of Humanities)

In response to the pandemic, Professor Becki Bennett devised a short, practical, 'in-house' course, Creating online materials for blended learning, with which to manage the anxiety of UoM staff and support them throughout the complex and stressful situation of moving all teaching online. The course had widespread success, having been viewed over 6,000 times, and led to her taking further leading roles in developing the faculty’s approach to adapting to blended learning.

Working alongside colleagues, Becki developed a faculty e-learning site with links to practical resources, such as templates, tools, and good practice libraries/podcasts all easily accessible by staff. In support of this, she also ran a series of online Q&A sessions, workshops, and drop-ins to support staff in adapting to the changes digital learning brings. Throughout all of this above work, she also continues to run three course units, and provided high quality online workshops nursing, genomics, embryology, and prenatal genomics, an online CPD course and launched an online FutureLearn course.
