Your P&DR is a valuable opportunity away from the day-day to reflect on the previous year and prioritise for the year ahead. There are several resources available to help you prepare for your P&DR conversation:  

 Dedicating time to prepare for your P&DR will help to ensure that it is a positive and developmental conversation that supports you in your role and career. 

Lead 

If you are in, or aspiring to, a leadership or management role, your P&DR is a worthwhile opportunity to reflect on your current capability and identify your focus for development. There are two frameworks with associated guidance, 180° feedback tools, and development resources that can be beneficial to use as part of your P&DR: 

Progress 

If you feel a lack of clarity about your career direction or are unsure about how to prepare for your career development, our career development pages contain a range of information and resources. This short activity is helpful to reflect on your career priorities, and we also have workshops available for staff, delivered by our Careers Service, to support with effective career management techniques (more dates coming in 2022/23).   

Learn, lead, progress

L&OD will share resources, ideas, guidance and opportunities to support your development and career progression at the University.

Learn, Lead, Progress will cover various learning topics to ensure you have access to the most relevant and up to date learning as we move through the year.
