Engagement monitoring

The 'engagement monitoring' project is our commitment to record and understand student engagement across the whole range of University services, and take actions to improve wellbeing and academic attainment.

The first phase of this long-term project is focusing on recording and reporting student attendance at learning activities. The University’s new digital system to record and report on student attendance at learning activities has now finished development and is ready to go live.

The online ‘Student Attendance’ system (accessed through My Manchester) allows students to record and view their own attendance at timetabled activities. Relevant staff can see and edit student check-ins in real time, and access attendance reports.

By making it easier to record and access attendance information, we’ll be able to better identify where students may need support. The system will also help programme teams record and report on attendance more effectively and efficiently, saving staff time and resource.
